We were in the Hartford, CT area to present "Kellisa's Path" to the State of Connecticut Hydrocephalus Association Community Network. We would like to thank Tracy for hosting the event (also for the food and shirts for the girls).

After an amazing meeting and lunch, we headed to Rhode Island for a hike at the Upper Roaring Brook Accessible Trail in the Arcadia Management Area. This trail was chosen because it was a short boardwalk and completely accessible for a wheelchair. We usually don't pick this kind of trail, but Kellisa was coming off several weeks of not feeling too good and we weren't sure how much she would be up to doing. Plus, we traveled with her Hippocampe the week before to Chicago and never used it because Kellisa was too sick.

Even with good directions, it was a challenge to find this trail so deep in a lush forest. It was a nice change to find an accessible trail so far off beaten path. It's great that people in wheelchairs can have a true wilderness experience without too much trouble. While driving through the forest to find the trailhead, we were surprised by the hilly terrain and the many trails that looked possible with Kellisa's Hippocampe.

The boardwalk is an out and back connecting two ponds.
