Flashback to March 2011 (Laurel is consistent, always throwing sand and rocks):

 

Back to our 2014 hike:

 

A rugged princess, but still a princess who needed to remove her socks and boots because there was sand in them:

 

Laurel made me very proud when she picked up this trash and wanted to return it the people who lost it. When I said we didn't know who lost it, she wanted to make sure we threw it out. Of course, she handed it to me to carry. Out of all the trash it could have been, I was glad it was only a dried out newspaper.
