After spending a few hours at Hell's Gate Airtram, we drove to Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park to hike the Othello Tunnels Rail to Trail. We stopped at a couple of scenic waterfalls along the way:
It was getting close to dusk as we entered the park and by the time we started on the 3.5km trail, we had the only car in the parking lot. Usually, being alone with Kellisa on a trail doesn't worry me too much, but we were in mountain lion and bear country, including grizzlies who were stocking up for the upcoming winter months. I was a little worried.
I was trying to keep my eyes and ears open for noises in the woods, but once we entered the canyon it was impossible. My eyes were trained on Kellisa enjoying the beauty of the area while taking in the sights myself. The roar from the raging river through the narrow canyon made it impossible to hear anything else.
Connected by bridges through Coquihalla Canyon. the five Othello Tunnels remain from the long gone era of railroad engineering masterpieces.

Many movies have been filmed in Coquihalla Canyon because of the easy access, including Rambo: First Blood. The scene with Rambo being shot at by the sheriff in a helicopter while hanging on a cliff face was filmed in the park.
